Cagarras Boat Tour – Rio de Janeiro

This past Saturday we saw Rio de Janeiro from a new perspective. We took a boat tour to the Cagarras Islands located 3 miles off shore. It was a perfect Rio winter day – warm temps, clear sky, and glorious sun. Upon reaching the islands, we dropped anchor and jumped in the water for a swim. It was surreal floating in the Atlantic with Corcovado Mountain in the distance, one of those, “Wow, we’re really doing this!” moments. “People who have faith in life are like swimmers who entrust themselves to a rushing river. They neither abandon themselves to its current nor try to resist it. Rather, they adjust their every movement to the watercourse, use it with purpose and skill, and enjoy the adventure.” ~ David Steindl-Rast
