Arraial do Cabo is less crowded and less developed than nearby Buzios – this is great when relaxing on the beach, but not so great in the evening when you’re looking for restaurants and nightlife.

My daughter with her kanga around her neck. A kanga is the Brazilian sarong and also takes the place of a towel. Only tourists bring bulky towels to Brazilian beaches.

Praia dos Anjos

The area is known for its snorkeling, diving, and boating tours that explore the rocky islands off the coast, but the wind was so strong the day our boat was scheduled that the marina cancelled all trips. 🙂 We’ll just have to come back.

Most of the restaurants were sidewalk snack places with typical Brazilian fare but we did find a good sushi place. My guys were especially happy with their sushi boat!
