Brazil’s Incredible Pantanal Reserve

Of course everyone has heard of the Amazon as an eco-nature destination, but few people know of the amazing biodiversity found in the Pantanal, the world’s largest wetlands. We spent two fascinating days and nights in the reserve, going on multiple safaris organized by Fazenda San Francisco, the farm where we stayed. We saw caiman alligators, capybaras, marsh deer, wild dogs, an anteater, piranha, owls, blue and yellow macaws, parrots, rheas, storks, hawks, and many, many other species of birds. The elusive jaquars did not make an appearance, however, we did see tracks. I’ve created a montage of action and stills taken while on our boat, land, and night safaris and around the fazenda. Hope you enjoy!
